Earth to Human

David Maggs' creation; Earth to Human was a great success. One week travelling the Northern Peninsula viewing natural features, visiting historic sites, getting up close and personal with nature and staying in the best accomodation Western Newfoundland can offer gave guests and media representatives a chance to get to know this wonderful landscape and its people. Oh, and the music! David and the Azmari Quartet provided evenings of musical delight.
Check out the blog of one of the travel writers, Joyce Schwarz, who accompanied us for her perspective of the trip.
My role in this endeavour? I was to tie up the week's experience. I did that literally by having all the participants share their impressions and then passing or throwing a ball of twine to the next person until we had a web that represented the web of life that links all living creatures together with each other, the earth and the whole universe.
My thanks to Ingrid Hart for encouraging me to let go and try this execise with the group.
Long bus trips, hikes and a boat ride enabled me to hear from the other travel writers that were with us; Christina Bolton who publishes inTravel Magazine and Nance Ackerman who was on a photo assignment for Canadian Geographic.
